They Denied Exam Permission, We Denied Justice

At a hostel in Junagadh, in late August 2025, a video leaked showing seniors physically beating a junior student. Victims say the school tried to hush it up, the administration denying knowledge. For many, hostel was meant to shelter – instead, it became ground zero for fear.

Solution

To stop such abuse, institutions must enforce zero-tolerance policies on ragging and violence, with strict action against offenders and those who cover it up. Hostels should have anonymous complaint systems, regular inspections, and trained wardens who ensure safety and respect. Schools must educate students on empathy, consent, and boundaries through awareness programs. Above all, victims need protection, counseling, and justice because silence protects bullies, not students.

Mental Health

He Jumped Because Silence Weighed More Than Words

On September 2025 in Visakhapatnam, 20-year-old first-year medical student Vismad Singh from Himachal Pradesh died by suicide, reportedly under both emotional burden from relationship issues and academic pressure from his father. Other students say they saw the signs, but no one listened. When expectations are louder than compassion, kids break.

Solution

To prevent such tragedies, we must build a culture of empathy and awareness. Colleges should provide confidential mental health support, peer listening programs, and stress management workshops. Parents need to focus on emotional well-being over marks — open conversations can save lives. Friends and classmates should learn to recognize warning signs and reach out instead of staying silent. Compassion, not comparison, is the real solution.

Sexual Health

She Was Harassed, They Laughed Then She Chose Silence as the Only Voice

n Lucknow, a 20-year-old NCC cadet, under distress following repeated harassment via obscene calls and threats, died by suicide. Authorities registered FIR under abuse and intimidation sections. When abuse becomes invisible, the cost is highest.

Solution

To prevent such tragedies, harassment complaints must be taken seriously from the first report. Authorities should act swiftly with cybercrime monitoring, strict enforcement of anti-harassment laws, and protection for victims. Colleges and workplaces must create safe reporting channels and raise awareness about digital safety and consent. Parents and peers should encourage victims to speak up early silence should never feel safer than seeking help.
